Sesquicentennial Celebration
Hempstead, TX was established on December
29, 1856 by Dr. Richard Rodgers Peebles and James W. McDade. In
recognition of this important milestone in Hempstead’s history, the
Chamber of Commerce has appointed Melissa Newcomb as Chairperson of the
Sesquicentennial Committee. There are many passionate and
energetic people working on this committee and we are very excited about
the activities they have planned.
